As I looked closer, it was a baby bunny, along with 3 more of her siblings. It was one of the most precious things to see. The momma felt safe enough in my garden to keep her babies there! The book sleeve pattern I used is from @cloverandviolet and it is fantastic! Beginner me loved it and I was pumped that once I figured it out, I was able to riff on it and add my own twists! I spend so much time designing fabric that sometim I spend so much time designing fabric that sometimes I forget how much joy there is in actually making something with it. So I pulled from my stash, dusted off my sewing machine, and started learning. And called my mom. A lot. 😀 Book sleeves. Kindle cases. iPad covers. And somehow, I even taught myself how to sew a zipper. Nothing is perfect. There are wobbly seams, little mistakes, and plenty of things I’d do differently next time. But every project taught me something new, and that’s what makes me smile when I look at this stack. A good reminder that creativity isn’t about perfection. A little piece of Nassau became a pattern. Saving A little piece of Nassau became a pattern. Saving my favorite pattern and story for last. While exploring during our cruise travels, I came across a beautiful woven bowl created by a local woman in the marketplace. Watching her create made me feel an instant bond with her and I knew I had to take home one of her pieces. Her handcrafted bowl and her artistry stayed with me long after we returned home. I knew I had to create a pattern inspired by it all. Inspired by the blue fabric woven into the leaves, this pattern turned into circles filled with the bright and cheerful colors of the islands. Aqua blue waters, green palm trees, yellow sunshine reflecting on the water, music drifting through the streets, and colorful little vacation memories collected along the way.
